We take care of a variety of patients with medical conditions and co-morbidities. We specialize on the acute care of the elderly. In addition to being a Magnet hospital, our staff are NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders) trained. Additional specialty training is provided to our staff in the care of geriatric patients. Through NICHE, all our nurses are Geriatric Resource Nurse (GRN) trained and all our nursing assistants (NAs) and clinical assistants (CAs) are Geriatric Patient Care Associate (GPCA) trained. About this unit4 Center is a 22-bed surgical unit which specializes in patients with acute and chronic kidney and liver disease. We care for patients going for kidney and liver transplants and those undergoing nephrectomy for the purpose of donating. We admit our transplant patients prior to surgery and care for them post operatively after they are downgraded from ICU. Patient education is a large part of what we do, and we work closely with our Transplant Medical Team. We are very proud to be #1 in the nation for kidney transplant survival at one year after transplant. Our nurses also perform peritoneal dialysis. We do not perform hemodialysis. About this unitWe are a 64 bed Inpatient Rehab Unit that sees a variety of patients who need to work on both their functional and medical problems. We treat ortho patients recovering from hip fractures, complex knee replacement, back surgery with neurologic involvement, multi-trauma, and other orthopedic issues. We also see neurology patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord tumors, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Parkinson’s, MS, and any cancer diagnosis with functional decline. We also have patients come to our unit who had amputations and other complex medical/surgical issues with functional decline. Patients participate in 15 hours of therapy across the 7-day week. Nursing continues the interventions practiced by the patients in therapy sessions, to continue safe mobility. For many of our patients, Rehab is the key to getting back home with their families. This is a very rewarding unit to work on, as we all get to take part in the progress patients make towards their goal of getting home.*This is an office position that involves working with payors, providers and patients to obtain authorization for inpatient rehab services. Corewell Health Proton Therapy Center is equipped with a state-of-art compact single room system, IBA ProtesuONE which is the second of its kind in the world. The proton physicist will gain the experience from all the aspect of validation, commission and clinical operation of the DynamicARC system. Dearborn - Full time, rotating shift, $2500 sign on bonus!Job SummaryUnder the direction and supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a variety of functions related to preparation, storage, distribution and dispensing of prescriptions. Within the Hospital, rotation through IV admixture and unit dose service is routine. Rotation to OR Pharmacy Services and Outpatient Pharmacy Services may be required. Performs data entry and other record keeping functions as determined to be necessary to the operations of the department.Essential FunctionsHospital In-Patient Pharmacy:1. Fills medication orders including oral, injectable and topical medications and intravenous admixtures.2. Assists in the bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products3. Prepares and distributes floor stock items in response to requisition forms.4. Inventories and restocks shelves in immediate work area, checks for outdated drugs.5. Enters charges and credits into the computer for all medications and IV admixtures dispensed from the Pharmacy, documents all medications and IV solutions returned to the Pharmacy.6. Distributes prepared medications to patient care areas and/or other departments of the Hospital.7. Performs necessary record keeping functions.8. Answers telephone and assists at Pharmacy window.9. May rotate within hospital and out-patient pharmacy service areas as required.10. Maintains the work area in a safe, orderly manner.11. Follows appropriate clean room (797) guidelines in the preparation of intravenous admixtures.QualificationsRequired A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a general high school diploma program or GED.Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program.
