About this Unit6 North is a 38 bed Cardiovascular unit that specializes in caring for adult patients with Heart Failure, cardiac dysrhythmias, newly implanted pacemakers and defibrillators, LVAD readmits, pulmonary hypertension and cardiac conditions requiring medical treatment. Most patients receive continuous telemetry monitoring.Care is provided 24 hours per day 7 days a week.Individuals would want to work on this unit do to the large variety of cardiovascular and progressive care experiences that allow for a robust skill set. If they were to transfer to another unit, you would gain time management, proficiency in the management of patient with complex conditions. Some skills you can gain on this unit include, bipap, respiratory management, pulmonary hypertension treatments, management of multiple IV drips, heart failure management, telemetry monitoring. The culture of this unit is teamwork and support. Staff works closely with physicians and other healthcare providers and services to provide optimal care in the inpatient setting. One of the great things about this unit you can't find compared to other units is the strong emphasis on patient education and community resources. About the unitThe Adult Nephrology (AN) unit is made up of inpatient dialysis units at both the Butterworth Campus and the Blodgett Campus of Corewell Health. At Butterworth there are 8 patient bays, and Blodgett has 5 patient bays. The AN team focuses on patient care for those who may have either an acute kidney injury or end state renal disease, that require dialysis support during a hospital stay. Dialysis nurses care for patients at both campuses either in the AN unit or at the bedside depending on the acuity level of the patient. Adult Nephrology is a specialized unit, where staff have gained expertise in dialysis and vascular accesses by becoming certified in nephrology nursing or technician care. Experienced healthcare professionals are required to understand and assess patient conditions and reactions to dialysis. About the unitCome join our growing Bronchoscopy Endoscopy team in Grand Rapids! We serve patients across our Corewell Health Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals and our outpatient facility located on Lake Drive. If you are looking for the scheduled hours of an outpatient setting and the pace and acuity of inpatient, we have the position for you! Our department works closely with our Endoscopy and Pulmonary providers and other disciplines and we have several specialized and advanced training opportunities within this field. As a team member on 2 South, you will see a wide variety of patients. Some of those diagnoses include Orthopedic Trauma, Ortho Oncology, Hip & Spine Fractures, Spine Surgery, where the other population is Progressive Care and Med/Surg overflow. About the unit 6 and 8 Center at Butterworth Hospital are secure units with 20 private beds on each that specialize in Women and Infant Services, specifically postpartum care of Mother Baby couplets, after labor and delivery. The excellent care provided by the 110 members of our Nursing and Support Team within Postpartum provides team members and patients with memories that last a lifetime. About the unit6 Meijer Heart Center (6 Heart) is a 46-bed cardiac and vascular progressive/stepdown unit at the Meijer Heart Center. The primary patient population served include patients with various cardiac and vascular diseases requiring medical, procedural, or surgical interventions. This includes acute coronary syndrome, acute myocardial infarction, post-percutaneous coronary intervention, peripheral artery disease, renal artery disease, aortic aneurysm, carotid artery disease and heart rhythm disorders. 6 Heart nurses are skilled in peritoneal dialysis, utilization of Endotool for continuous insulin drip management, and hemodynamic monitoring with arterial lines. 6 Heart is a great unit to grow and develop as a nurse. At 7 North opportunities to learn and grow never stop due to the variety in patient population, this unit is considered a medical/surgical unit but specializes in the care of urology and surgical oncology post-operative patients as well as those with gastrointestinal diagnoses. This team stands out as being experts in nasogastric tubes, urinary catheters and urologic care, and managing the care of wounds, ostomies, tubes and drains. About the unit 4 Center OB Special Care is a specialty within the world of Obstetrics care. 4 Center providers expert individualized care for patients with high-risk pregnancies and pregnancy- related conditions, as well as postpartum care. Our most common diagnosis includes premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor or contractions, preeclampsia/hypertension, cervical shortening, vaginal bleeding, hyperemesis, and diabetes care. Scope of Work Provides health information, interacts and acts as a resource for nursing units for complex clinical situations to ensure appropriate use of acute care services and diagnosis-related group (DRG) management. Assesses appropriateness of inpatient admissions and continued stay. Educates medical staff/other health care professionals regarding utilization management and quality requirements. Makes recommendations and provides financial and utilization management (UM) information to other members of the care facilitation teams for work prioritization. About the unit Our 20 bed High Risk Postpartum / Women’s Health unit is located on 7 Center at Butterworth hospital. We provide couplet care, where we care for both mom and baby together. Two thirds of our patient population is typically related to diabetes management, complications due to high blood pressure, Covid 19, and more. We care for newborns that have issues with feeding, blood sugar management, and high bilirubin levels.
