This unit’s primary specialty is post-open heart/CABG patients. Post-op CABG patients will recover in the ICU for 2-3 days. The patient population will include cardiac procedure requiring ICU level care, open-heart patients direct from the OR, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, TAVR procedure, and STEMI intervention. RNs will care for patients requiring ventilator support, SWAN-GANZ catheters, vasopressors, inotrope drips, high alert drips, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), IMPELLA devices, and chest tubes. Post Acute Care UnitsA Wing is a 58 bed Medicare/Medicaid unit that has residents with multiple clinical issues including CHF, dehydration, cellulites, diabetes, DVT, and stable cardiac related issues needing monitoring. Nurses work closely with a variety of health care professionals including: doctors, social work, dieticians, PT/OT, hospice, and spiritual support. A Wing offers a well-rounded opportunity for learning, professional growth and personal satisfaction.B Wing is a 40 bed Medicare/Medicaid/Dementia unit. We provide care to residents with a variety of diagnoses. B wing is a great unit for nursing students to develop their organizational skills and gain some experience in dealing with challenging behaviors. This unit also works closely with a multidisciplinary team meets and discusses the resident’s plan of care.C Wing is a 58 bed Medicare/Rehabilitation and Skilled unit and is a great place to learn basic med-surg, I.V. therapy & wound treatments nursing skills. Nurses on this unit along with host of healthcare professionals work to provide and implement the best treatment plan for residents. This fast paced and busy unit provide a great atmosphere for PT/OT residents to be motivated and reach their goals.About the facilityWith 2 floors, 4 units, we are able to provide care for long term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. The first floor has 96 beds and the second floor has 100 beds. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. We care for dementia residents, long term care and a rehab residents. With 196 beds, we accept but not limited to patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, cardiac, respiratory and cancer. About the unitCPCU is a 28-bed unit consisting primarily of cardiac patients. We have 16 private rooms and 2 semiprivate in-patient rooms with 4 semi-private outpatient rooms. About the unitWelcome to 3 North Progressive Care. We are a 29 bed unit caring for a variety of adult patients. We primarily treat respiratory patients, but also manage cardiac, post-surgical, and patients with multiple comorbidities. All patients are monitored on remote telemetry. About this unitsThis Maternal Child Health Float RN will float to NICU, Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby and PedsThe NICU is a 29 bed Level 3 neonatal critical care unit, caring for neonates 28 weeks and up. A Neonatologist and NNP are on the unit 24 hours a day. NICU nurses are NRP certified and attend all high risk deliveries in labor and delivery. NICU nurses along with a multidisciplinary team participate in transporting infants from neighboring hospitals to Beaumont Dearborn's NICU.The Family Birth Center includes 15 LDR rooms, 1 natural birthing suite, a 7 bed Triage, 3 ORs, 3 recovery beds, and 10 antepartum beds. Approximately 3,500 deliveries per year.The Mother Baby Care Unit is a 28-bed unit that cares for postpartum patients and newborns. Includes rotation within the maternal child health units with training.The Pediatric department is a secured 13 bed unit which cares for patients from newborn to 18 years of age. We care for low to moderate acute pediatric patients in a family centered care environment. GENERAL SUMMARY:The physical therapist is responsible for examining, evaluating and developing a treatment plan for patients with functional limitations and disabilities. PT’s provide consultation to healthcare providers regarding a patient’s continuum of care. The individual in this position is required to appropriately interact with all patients regardless of age or culture and to adhere to the Corewell customer service standards.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:1. Direct patient care: Provides a Physical Therapy evaluation, incorporating patient treatment: evaluates, interprets findings; develops treatment and discharge plans; implements treatment, re-evaluates, educates patients and significant others; meets productivity· Documents: evaluation results, treatment and discharge plans and daily treatment according to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and professional standards of documentation; submits charges for services provided.2. Maintains verbal, written and electronic communication and collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team, referral sources, physicians, and 3rd party payors.3. Participates in leadership functions: community outreach, CQI, marketing, cost containment, program development, PTA/AT/aide/student supervision; teaches staff, physicians and others.4. Professional development: Attends staff meetings; maintains and improves competence through self-study, attending in-services and continuing education programs. Clinical education to students.5. Evaluate, consult and implement an appropriate treatment plan for each patient. Accurately documents treatments and charges for self and assigned support staff.6. Serve as a resource of information and treatment skill for less knowledgeable staff, provide student supervision.7. Manage staff and department resources wisely. Supervise assigned support staff.8. Collaborate with intra and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care. Collaborates with patient, family, significant other in treatment and in discharge planning.9. Provide documentation to the physicians regarding the patient initially, at discharge, and at appropriate intervals. Discusses changes to the prescribed program with the physician before initiation.10. PT maintains good standing with the licensure/regulatory board and all applicable laws/rules/regulations.STANDARD QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Masters or Doctorate Degree preferred.B. Work Experience:· Written or verbal communication skills required. Word processing and computer skills required. It is preferred that pediatric therapists have NDT certification and competency in serial casting.C. Certification, Licensure, Registration:· Michigan State License in Physical Therapy required. BLS certification.D. Other Qualifications:· Competent clinical and evaluation skills are required.· Ability to demonstrate Corewellcustomer service standards; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work independently in a fast paced environment; knowledge of clinical pathology, evaluation and treatment techniques for assigned population.· Must be able to demonstrate basic computer proficiency for EMR documentation.· Rehab: NDT or NCS Board certification preferred.· Neurotrauma Rehab: This program specializes in the treatment of traumatic brain and spinal cord injured patients. Requires collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, good communication skills is essential.· Peds Rehab: SI and/or NDT or PCS Board certification or experience preferred.
