The Cardiac Cath Lab at Dearborn supports 4 procedural labs and 16 pre and post-procedure bays. As the referral center for the surrounding communities, we see and treat both elective and emergent patients with cardiac and vascular conditions. Utilizing the most up to date technology and supplies, the lab performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures, while specializing in high risk angioplasty with the use of heart support devices. In addition, we specialize in chronic total occlusions and structural heart procedures with in-lab TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement). About the unit3 North is a 27-bed Intermediate Care Unit, offering 3:1 nurse to patient ratio. This unit is designed to care for the neuro, medical, and surgical patient requiring a higher level of care. Corewell Health is offering up to $12,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! (nights only)About the unitThis unit is a 16-bed cardiovascular/cardiothoracic care unit. This unit’s primary specialty is post-open heart/CABG patients. Post-op CABG patients will recover in the ICU for 2-3 days. The patient population will include cardiac procedure requiring ICU level care, open-heart patients direct from the OR, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, TAVR procedure, and STEMI intervention. RNs will care for patients requiring ventilator support, SWAN-GANZ catheters, vasopressors, inotrope drips, high alert drips, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), IMPELLA devices, and chest tubes. We typically care for patients post ICU stay from one of our 4 ICUS at Troy, and patients requiring more care than a Progressive Care Level can provide. About the unit1NE works in coordination with the Troy acute care EC to move admitted patients quickly to an in-patient care environment. Patients in this unit enjoy appropriate care while an in-patient bed location is prepared for them, or they are prepared for discharge. Length of stay on this unit is typically shorter than 48 hours. We care for patients with all types of diagnoses (cardiac, GI, neuro, trauma) so there is a wide variety of skills required. About the unitCPCU is a 28-bed unit consisting primarily of cardiac patients. We have 16 private rooms and 2 semiprivate in-patient rooms with 4 semi-private outpatient rooms. UNIT SUMMARY: We are a fast paced 12 bed Medical ICU managing a complex patient population which include both medical and surgical patients. We are the primary ICU for Stroke/TPA patients and care for patients with sepsis, respiratory failure requiring advanced airway management, GIB (GI bleeding) requiring massive blood transfusion, kidney failure requiring CRRT, and multi organ failure with invasive and noninvasive monitoring. Surgical patients cared for on this unit include post op patients that have various procedures/operations such as new tracheostomies, pegs, abdominal, urological, and vascular surgeries. About the unitWelcome to 3 North Progressive Care. We are a 29 bed unit caring for a variety of adult patients. We primarily treat respiratory patients, but also manage cardiac, post-surgical, and patients with multiple comorbidities. All patients are monitored on remote telemetry. About the unitThe Medical Observation Unit consists of 54 beds. Patients are categorized as Observation secondary to insurance requirements. This is a medical unit. Patients are admitted from the Emergency Department with mental status changes, long term placement needs, pain, cardiac, TIA, r/o CVA, UTI, pneumonia, geriatric, and behavioral issues. If patients meet criteria for higher level of care they will be transferred to the assigned progressive or inpatient unit. Staff complete an assessment and shift documentation according to the Observation documentation policy. There is rapid patient turnover on this unit between patient discharges and transfers. About the unit3CN/5CN Intermediate Surgical Unit offers a dynamic patient care experience. 3 CN is a ten-bed unit thatspecializes in general surgery, vascular, and thoracic patients. We are the only progressive care unit in the hospital that can monitor arterial lines. 5 CN is a cardiovascular and thoracic surgery unit. About this unit9 North ACE unit is a 29-bed specialty unit for the care of medical patients 65 years old and older. We take care of a variety of patients with medical conditions and co-morbidities. We specialize on the acute care of the elderly. In addition to being a Magnet hospital, our staff are NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders) trained. Additional specialty training is provided to our staff in the care of geriatric patients. Through NICHE, all our nurses are Geriatric Resource Nurse (GRN) trained and all our nursing assistants (NAs) and clinical assistants (CAs) are Geriatric Patient Care Associate (GPCA) trained. About this unitWe are a 64 bed Inpatient Rehab Unit that sees a variety of patients who need to work on both their functional and medical problems. We treat ortho patients recovering from hip fractures, complex knee replacement, back surgery with neurologic involvement, multi-trauma, and other orthopedic issues. We also see neurology patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord tumors, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Parkinson’s, MS, and any cancer diagnosis with functional decline. We also have patients come to our unit who had amputations and other complex medical/surgical issues with functional decline. Patients participate in 15 hours of therapy across the 7-day week. Nursing continues the interventions practiced by the patients in therapy sessions, to continue safe mobility. For many of our patients, Rehab is the key to getting back home with their families. About this unit4 Center is a 22-bed surgical unit which specializes in patients with acute and chronic kidney and liver disease. We care for patients going for kidney and liver transplants and those undergoing nephrectomy for the purpose of donating. We admit our transplant patients prior to surgery and care for them post operatively after they are downgraded from ICU. Patient education is a large part of what we do, and we work closely with our Transplant Medical Team. Post Acute Care UnitsA Wing is a 58 bed Medicare/Medicaid unit that has residents with multiple clinical issues including CHF, dehydration, cellulites, diabetes, DVT, and stable cardiac related issues needing monitoring. Nurses work closely with a variety of health care professionals including: doctors, social work, dieticians, PT/OT, hospice, and spiritual support. A Wing offers a well-rounded opportunity for learning, professional growth and personal satisfaction.B Wing is a 40 bed Medicare/Medicaid/Dementia unit. We provide care to residents with a variety of diagnoses. B wing is a great unit for nursing students to develop their organizational skills and gain some experience in dealing with challenging behaviors. This unit also works closely with a multidisciplinary team meets and discusses the resident’s plan of care.C Wing is a 58 bed Medicare/Rehabilitation and Skilled unit and is a great place to learn basic med-surg, I.V. therapy & wound treatments nursing skills. Nurses on this unit along with host of healthcare professionals work to provide and implement the best treatment plan for residents. This fast paced and busy unit provide a great atmosphere for PT/OT residents to be motivated and reach their goals.About the facilityWith 2 floors, 4 units, we are able to provide care for long term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. The first floor has 96 beds and the second floor has 100 beds. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. We care for dementia residents, long term care and a rehab residents. With 196 beds, we accept but not limited to patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, cardiac, respiratory and cancer.
