Location: Forest County JailOpen Position:Licensed Professional Counselor LPC, MSW or Psych RNSchedule: 3hrs per week, Flexible ScheduleJob Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Provider to deliver vital mental health services to inmates within a county jail system. The ideal candidate will possess either a master's degree in counseling or social work. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to positively impact individuals' lives during an important time.Key Responsibilities:Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of inmates' mental health needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on stabilization, skill-building, and preparation for re-entry into the community.Provide individual and group counseling services, addressing a range of issues such as substance abuse, trauma, anger management, and coping skills.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including corrections staff, medical professionals, and probation officers to ensure comprehensive care.Facilitate referrals to internal programs and external community resources for ongoing support upon release.Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, sessions, and other relevant information.Stay current with best practices in correctional mental health and seek out opportunities for professional growth.Qualifications:Master's Level:Master’s degree in counseling or social work.
