About the unit8N is a 28-bed med/surg unit with a renal focus; we see a wide variety of patients who are in acute and chronic renal failure requiring hemodialysis and Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis. This unit gives you the opportunity to work with various disciplines including Nephrologist, social workers, case managers, and dieticians to develop critical thinking skills as well as clinical skill development. The unit has a close-knit group of nurses resulting in great teamwork. We have 36 beds with 30 semi-private rooms and 3 semi-private rooms, which includes 1 negative pressure room.Each patient has a telemetry monitor that they are required to wear at all times while on the unit. We take many types of patients including hemodynamically stable adults ages 18 or greater that require monitoring every four hours. The unit can take pediatric patients ages 14 or greater into a private room with a guardian present. Common diagnoses include cardiac intervention, pre-CABG, arrhythmias, blood pressure abnormalities, congestive heart failure, substance abuse, and general medical patients. The unit also takes medication drips including antiarrhythmic medications, IV nitroglycerin, heparin, non-titrating dopamine, and IV inotropic (not including levophed, neosynephrine, or labetalol). The unit does not take ventilators or heated high flow oxygen modalities. The 4th floor is a fast paced, high-energy environment that thrives on teamwork, kindness, and respect from all team members. Post Acute Care UnitsA Wing is a 58 bed Medicare/Medicaid unit that has residents with multiple clinical issues including CHF, dehydration, cellulites, diabetes, DVT, and stable cardiac related issues needing monitoring. Nurses work closely with a variety of health care professionals including: doctors, social work, dieticians, PT/OT, hospice, and spiritual support. A Wing offers a well-rounded opportunity for learning, professional growth and personal satisfaction.B Wing is a 40 bed Medicare/Medicaid/Dementia unit. We provide care to residents with a variety of diagnoses. B wing is a great unit for nursing students to develop their organizational skills and gain some experience in dealing with challenging behaviors. This unit also works closely with a multidisciplinary team meets and discusses the resident’s plan of care.C Wing is a 58 bed Medicare/Rehabilitation and Skilled unit and is a great place to learn basic med-surg, I.V. therapy & wound treatments nursing skills. Nurses on this unit along with host of healthcare professionals work to provide and implement the best treatment plan for residents. This fast paced and busy unit provide a great atmosphere for PT/OT residents to be motivated and reach their goals.About the facilityWith 2 floors, 4 units, we are able to provide care for long term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. The first floor has 96 beds and the second floor has 100 beds. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. We care for dementia residents, long term care and a rehab residents. With 196 beds, we accept but not limited to patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, cardiac, respiratory and cancer. Post Acute Care UnitsA Wing is a 58 bed Medicare/Medicaid unit that has residents with multiple clinical issues including CHF, dehydration, cellulites, diabetes, DVT, and stable cardiac related issues needing monitoring. Nurses work closely with a variety of health care professionals including: doctors, social work, dieticians, PT/OT, hospice, and spiritual support. A Wing offers a well-rounded opportunity for learning, professional growth and personal satisfaction.B Wing is a 40 bed Medicare/Medicaid/Dementia unit. We provide care to residents with a variety of diagnoses. B wing is a great unit for nursing students to develop their organizational skills and gain some experience in dealing with challenging behaviors. This unit also works closely with a multidisciplinary team meets and discusses the resident’s plan of care.C Wing is a 58 bed Medicare/Rehabilitation and Skilled unit and is a great place to learn basic med-surg, I.V. therapy & wound treatments nursing skills. Nurses on this unit along with host of healthcare professionals work to provide and implement the best treatment plan for residents. This fast paced and busy unit provide a great atmosphere for PT/OT residents to be motivated and reach their goals.About the facilityWith 2 floors, 4 units, we are able to provide care for long term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. The first floor has 96 beds and the second floor has 100 beds. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. We care for dementia residents, long term care and a rehab residents. With 196 beds, we accept but not limited to patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, cardiac, respiratory and cancer.
