The Millwright is responsible for installing, assembling, and, when necessary, dismantling machinery,conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.The Millwright will transport and locate machines and equipment to the desired location according tofloor plans, or as directed using forklifts, hoists, winches, cranes and other equipment. Assemblemachines or equipment from their component parts. The Millwright must understand how a machinefunctions to assemble and disassemble it properly. This may involve knowledge of electronics,pneumatics, and computer systems. The Millwright will use complex instruction books that detail theassembly of the machinery and use tools such as levels, welding machines, and hydraulic torquewrenches. The Millwright will also use micrometers and other precision measuring devices to achieve theextreme tolerances required. On large projects, the use of cranes is common. Work requires practical skilland knowledge and journey-level skill as a millwright. Candidate must be able to perform incidental tasksas required to complete the larger task.
