Req ID:25234PRIMARY FUNCTIONPerform shipping and receiving duties, some machine maintenance and inventory control.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible on moving jobs, products between the plants in a timely fashion as needed.Document all certifications of materials received and or processed to complete jobs and send to the appropriate department. Document size and weight of shipment. Address where shipment will be delivered or picked up from. Receive certs into database and assign to specific jobs. Responsible for the daily inspections of Fork trucks in each factory & company vehicle’s. (oil’s /tires /battery’s etc) Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.Responsible to make arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.Schedule via email any anticipated off-sites one day prior with Shipping Coordinator.Ensure someone is always available to answer the door. Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.Set up outgoing scrap shipments. Ensure solid, shred, and each material type is in separate pallet, Gaylord, etc. Wrap each pallet, Gaylord, etc. securely and coordinate with Shipping Coordinator for pick up. Weigh each pallet, Gaylord, etc. with designated scale and mark accordingly. Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.Required to forward a requisition for shipping materials to the Department Supervisor for approval.Photograph scale zeroed out and with actual weight. Zoom in and out on each photo to show accuracy. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations inside and out factories.Required to make pick-ups and deliveries to our suppliers for parts and raw materials using a company vehicle/Truck or Semi.Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Documents actions by completing production time sheets.Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Additional job duties as assignedOther duties as assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma/GED, certificate in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent work experienceAbility to perform but not limited to the following tasks, be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips, enter into the computer the correct information, to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database.Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.Must be capable of estimating weight, and use that information to calculate the cost of shipping.Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment and be a licensed forklift truck operator.Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable.PHYSICAL DEMANDSPhysical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
