3Dis a 22 bed Med/Surg unit at Blodgett Hospitalthat specializes in the care of patients admitted with complex medical diagnoses as well as general surgery patients. Nurses are often drawn to 3D for the variety of patients and skills utilized. Our nurses become competent in caring for a large array of both medical patients and the occasional surgical patients. Specifically, our team isknown as being experts innasogastric tubes,urinary catheters,managing tube feeding,and managingthe care of wounds. Some of the patient types we routinely see are respiratory illnesses, acute kidney injuries, diabetic care, septic shock, GI bleed and other acute GI illnesses, sickle cell crisis, pancreatitis and psychiatric care.
