Job DescriptionJob Description:The Pharmacy Care Management Director is responsible for operations, clinical practice, and ongoing development and support of pharmacy care management services (enterprise-wide). Services include but are not limited to, ambulatory pharmacy clinical services, population health pharmacy, medication access, and specialty pharmacy. The Director will drive performance quality measures tied to or impacted by pharmacy care services (e.g., HEDIS, NCQA, and CMS), as well as optimize pharmacy’s contribution within value-based care initiatives. The Director participates in departmental long-range planning and collaborates with pharmacy leaders and cross-functional teams to provide leadership and oversight of programs, processes, and business strategies.Education Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:In partnership with pharmacy leaders and other stakeholders, provide oversight of operations and strategies in assigned pharmacy and clinical service areas, driving patient excellence while ensuring the achievement of department and organizational goalsMaintain accountability to budget and financial targets for assigned areas, in collaboration with other stakeholdersOversight of cost-effective use of medications and treatments. This includes risk reduction and optimal utilization of resources to enhance patient careFacilitate and lead implementation of medication-related strategies for high-risk disease states and programs that strengthen treatment outcomes, value-based care and improve medication adherenceInform and participate in outpatient prescription drug benefit decision-making and development of systems that can positively impact medication cost trendsServe as a professional resource in facilitating interdisciplinary practice and communicationProvide pharmacy representation and leadership on pharmacy, system, and external committees related to population health pharmacy services and value-based careFoster an environment that provides consistent excellence in patient and customer experience, outcomes that meet or exceed quality standards, operational targets and financial targets, a culture of employee engagement and wellbeing, and regulatory complianceBuild strong relationships with all internal groups, external agencies, and other stakeholders to anticipate needs and ensure alignment within a highly matrixed environmentPerform other responsibilities as needed/assignedEducational Requirements:Graduation from an accredited School of PharmacyBachelor's degree in pharmacy or Doctorate in PharmacyRequired Qualifications:Experience providing and overseeing pharmacy services including one of the following: 8 years of applicable pharmacy experience with at least 3 years of health system pharmacy leadershipCompletion of accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency and a minimum of 5 years applicable health system pharmacy leadershipCompletion of a PGY2 pharmacy residency and at least 4 years of applicable health system pharmacy leadershipPreferred Qualifications:Master’s in business administration or equivalent trainingExperience working and leading multi-disciplinary initiatives and health system-level projectsManaged care experienceProven successes in value-based care deliverySpecialty Pharmacy experienceLicensure/Certification Qualifications:Certification/Licensure Requirements:Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Board of Pharmacy of the state where they will work (Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota) within 90 days of hireJob Location: Essentia Health Superior Belknap PharmacyShift Rotation: Day Rotation (United States of America)Shift Start/End: /Hours Per Pay Period:Compensation Range:Union:FTE: 1Weekends:Call Obligations:Sign On Bonus:
