The medical telemetry unit provides care for a diverse patient population requiring telemetry monitoring, and sees multiple diagnoses including but not limited to chest pain, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, electrophysiology studies, and pacemaker/internal defibrillator implants. The acuity adaptable critical care unit provides care for the medical telemetry patient requiring a higher acuity of care, up to and including critical care diagnoses and equipment such as balloon pumps, vasoactive medication, ventilators, and advanced cardiac procedure pre/post care. Nursing skill sets on Cardiology & the CSU range from medical telemetry nursing to an advanced critical care nursing.
