Job Description: The Customer Product Repair Mechanic with a focus in precision assembly is responsible for all processes related to disassembly, repair, and assembly of a range of equipment/products including but not limited to rotating equipment, pumps, and components found in nuclear pump assemblies. The CPRM will work with team leads, production supervision and quality assurance to execute work as provided on work instructions, routers, drawings, and checklists. The CPRM independently selects and uses inspection equipment to check dimensions of all critical components during the disassembly, repair processes and assembly and gives a written description of the wear and condition of critical components. This position also ensures all forms and documentation are complete prior to submission to engineering and quality assurance. The CPRM will also be responsible to paint and prep the equipment, as required, prior to shipment to the customer. Work hours: Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm. Location: Charlotte, NC. Communicates and interacts with co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.Position Responsibilities:Review work schedule, perform safety check on equipment, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations. Work from preventative maintenance schedules, various checklists, manuals, diagrams, specifications, vehicle file and instructions.Assist in performing regular scheduled tractor inspections, complete checklists, troubleshoot and make routine repairs as required. Perform major repair work to tractors and trailers, disassemble, remove, repair or replace defective parts or components of gas or diesel engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, ignition, electrical and hydraulic systems, air conditioning, refrigeration controls and units, clutches, brakes and mechanical or electrical operating units.Assist in servicing and repairing refrigeration units, repair engines, repair leaks, replace tubing, condensers, thermal controls, and recharge units with approved refrigerant gas.Operate electric arc welding equipment to repair ramps, ladders and tripods, repair or construct new cargo bars.Assist on road service trips, maintain required logs, records, checklists and reports, maintain garage tools, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.Perform other similar or related operations as assigned or directed.
