Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors. Coordinates and supervises patient care. Identifies and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of the patients and their families. Communicates clearly and professionally with all members of the health care team. Notifies physicians in a timely manner of changes in the patient’s condition and response to treatment. Maintains a good working relationship and treats others with respect within the department and with all other hospital departments. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Educates patient and family on disease process. Follows all evidence-based medicine and core measures as supported by Maria Parham Health. Utilizes supplies and resources in a cost-effective manner. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications: Minimum Education Associates degree in nursing is required. Certifications/Licenses A current North Carolina or compact stated Registered Nurse (RN) license is required upon hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within 30 days of employment. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required within 6 months of employment. Handle with Care (HWC) is required within 6 months of hire. Required Skills Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Minimum Work Experience 1 year of experience in a health care setting is preferred.
