This unit admits and discharges patients 0-17 years of age for scheduled diagnostic procedures, tests and surgeries. Prior to the scheduled intervention, all patients are screened to assure that all needed information is present, and the patient has met all criteria to assure a safe anesthesia, surgical or procedural experience. Nurses work closely with anesthesia and physicians. In addition, Child Life Specialists are a very important part of the team. All members of the teamwork hand in hand with parents and family members to provide family-centered care.
