Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewResponsible for the functions of their designated area which includes planning, organizing, and monitoring resident care provided by the non-licensed nursing staff.What you will doProvides leadership and day-to-day management. Guides staff in meeting needs of the residents. Enforces facilities staffing policies and acts as an advocate for residents.Facilitates care conferences and multidisciplinary care planning process. Coordinates admissions, discharges and transfers to and from the facility. Assures that social service, activities, housekeeping and nutrition meets the needs of residents and clients.Ensures completion, with the interdisciplinary team, of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) including MDS, RAPs, and Care Plans as dictated by facility, state and federal guidelines.Enforces and maintains safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations.Assists with data collection and audits, for quality functions, assists with performance improvement activities. Develops and implements a QAPI plan and leads the Performance Improvement Committee as required by regulation. Assists in evaluating outcomes and processes to identify opportunities for performance improvement on the campus.Provides resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team; coordinating with other healthcare providers; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends; conferring with physicians.Assures compliance with all regulatory functions and is aware of regulations. Interprets policies and objectives. Works collaboratively with Compliance, Safety, Education, and individual departments to educate staff, monitor compliance, and recommend improvements.Directs and tracks the orientation of new staff, provides follow up, assures that all competencies, documentation is complete.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
