Gouverneur Hospital is certified for 25 beds and services include inpatient detox, substance use disorder rehabilitation, emergency care, imaging and EKG’s, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy.STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Gouverneur Hospital DEPARTMENT: Laboratory ServicesSCHEDULE: 10 hour shifts ATTRIBUTESBS in Medical Technology or BS in a related Science (Biology, Chemistry, or The Physical Sciences) and/or equivalent relevant experience as recognized by New York State Department of Education for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. (NYS Dept of Education, Education Law, Title 8, Article 165, sub-parts 79-15; 9/23/8).Previous experience in a Clinical or Pathology Laboratory a benefit, but not required.Certification by American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) preferred, but not required.Excellent communication and evaluation skillsExceptional documentation skills and attention to detailRESPONSIBILITIES Analysis & Reporting. Perform precise specimen analysis and report results accurately, following established procedures; recognize deviation from expected results, analyze and correct problems using scientific principles; complete QC Action Logs, preventative maintenance logs and pending lists dailyTraining & Development. Assist with training new personnel on responsibilities in the laboratory; evaluate progress of training; make recommendations for training methods and contentEvaluation. PAY RANGE:$26.50 - $42.00The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
