As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital link in moving medications throughout the facility to enhance patient care.A caregiver in this position works varying shifts.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Perform pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and provision of pharmaceutical care for patients in service responsibility in a routine, continuous manner, considering the age and clinical condition of each patient.Provide general and patient specific drug information to patients, physicians, nurses and, and other health care professionals.Support clinical pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients by direct interaction, and formal educational programs.Maintain expertise in areas of practice through continual learning, journal review and other educational activities.Educate clinical pharmacists, technicians, pharmacy students, post graduate trainees, allied health professionals, nurses, and physicians in pharmacotherapy within in the specialty area.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:PharmD orBachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy and completion of a post-graduate residency or fellowship trainingSpecialty residency(isrequired, if hired for a specialty area where specialty residency training is available)Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hireCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire (For individuals required to administer immunizations)Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA).
