The Manufacturing Technician will perform multiple hands-on functions within the Consumables Methods Group, ranging from the support of daily production operations to the development of new and improved manufacturing processes. • Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.
• Set up and conduct tests under operational conditions to investigate processes and product designs. May work independently or under the direction of a Consumable Methods and Process Engineer or Engineering Manager.
• Assist with the execution of Permission Notes to test process changes, material changes, and new/redesigned products
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.
• Must be able to perform basic analysis of raw data and make decisions based on the analysis.
• Responsible for safety, cleanliness of work area, and workmanship while performing assigned duties.
• Review, understand, and follow the departmental procedures that are associated with this job.
• Responsible for product quality and productivity resulting from the manufacturing processes.
• Create and maintain all documentation associated with the manufacturing process
• Evaluate assigned Employee Suggestions, create Permission Notes, and Change Requests.
• Interact with all departments as required to support Consumable Division initiatives. These include, but are not limited to: R&D, Marketing, Supply Management, all production departments, QA.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s Strategy.Education & Experience RequirementsTechnician III: Vocational training and 5+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years’ experience in a relevant work environment.
• Has full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures (or deep skills in a single area) through job-related training and considerable work experience
• Completes a variety of atypical assignments
• Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments
• Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignment
• Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experienceTechnician IV: Vocational training and 8+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years’ experience in a relevant work environment.
• Has advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable work experience
• Proposes improvements to processes
• May act as a lead, coordinating and facilitating the work of others but is not a supervisor
