Mount Carmel Rehabilitation Hospital an affiliate of Encompass Health597 Executive Campus DriveWesterville, OH 43082The Enrichment Therapist provides enrichment counseling according to hospital, state, professional and federal regulations, and guidelines. This position develops hospital enrichment activities and trains hospital support staff in providing enrichment activities to patients. The Enrichment Therapist provides enrichment evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment in their area of specialty. This position requires effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and caregivers and maintains open and on-going communication with hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospital needs are met. The Enrichment Therapist creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment. QualificationsLicense or Certification:- BLS (CPR) required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire within this role.- Certified as defined by applicable Professional Organization.Minimum Qualifications:- Successfully completed an Associate degree, Bachelor degree, or higher from an accredited program in therapeutic recreation, music therapy, art therapy, spiritual therapy, vocational or any other enrichment program.Machines, Equipment Used:- Therapy equipment and general office equipment such as computer/laptop, telephone, copy/fax machine, calculator, scanner, etc.- Microsoft Office software, to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.Physical Requirements:- Visual acuity, speech recognition, speech clarity.- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds including medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.Skills and Abilities:- Oral communication, written communication, active listening.
