What You'll Do As a Machinist B - Punch Press you'll be part of our team located in Montpelier, IN. You'll get to: Set up and operate various types of tool room and punch press equipmentPlans and arranges machining sequence, confirms tool design intent by utilizing various measuring instrumentation to close tolerances.Trouble shoot and diagnoses forming problems with progressive stamping diesOperate die cart and crane to move and lift diesCompletes tooling changes, sharpening and repair in dieComplete general maintenance and cleaning on diesOperate PIVsWork with and understand blueprints with close toleranceMaintain housekeeping standardsAbility to work overtime as neededAny other duties as assigned by supervisorGrindingTool design and hand sharpening (cutting tools)Upkeep of machines, minor maintenance Who You Are You always strive to do a good job...but wouldn't it be great if you could do your job and do a world of good You care about quality - at every level. Emphasis in stampings and six month press die set up or machine repair experience preferred.CNC experience, able to do some programing.Mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply and divide), practical application of percentages and ratiosPractical algebra, geometric construction and essentials of trigonometryApply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. Deal with several abstracts and concrete variables.Write instructions in moderate to simple sentences to provide manufacturing information.
