Uniformed Security Officer with responsibilities including access control, visitor registration, emergency response and customer service. Access control includes the active visual evaluation of persons entering the building; registering visitors, delivery couriers, and contractors; enforcing required badge in policies and actively challenging persons without authorization to be on the premises.
Public relations includes professionally greeting persons entering the complex, offering direction or assistance with registration and ensuring they reach their final destination. Of particular importance is assisting those who are handicapped or need special assistance.
Emergency Response includes monitoring and dispatching alarms at multiple Corporate locations; responding to various alarms or calls for assistance at Headquarters, and providing the necessary assistance according to department procedure to protect the company’s assets and reputation.
Customer Service includes recognizing every person entering or working in our facility is our customer and that as a department we have a responsibility to provide a safe and secure work environment.
Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.
Position Responsibilities
- Conducts routine patrols and directed rounds of the entire complex
- Works stationary posts
- Controls access including visitor registration at entry points.
- Enforcement of company and building policies including equipment removal procedures.
- Completes various written reports: Daily activity log, Incident reports, etc.
- Responds to routine and emergency calls including fire, medical, criminal incidents, etc.
- Initiates emergency procedures as required.
- Performs safety inspections of various systems and department equipment.
- Provides escorts within the building complex.
- Dispatching of security personnel as well as contacting emergency services as necessary.
- Initial investigation of incidents occurring in the building complex.
- Responsible for the security and safety of the HQ Complex, a 1.5 million square foot office complex with approximately 3,500 occupants.
- Operates access control systems and monitors alarms for multiple locations.
- May assist with security matters or incidents occurring at other company properties when contacted or requested
- Operates and tests the operation of facility life safety and security systems.
- On call 24 hours – work includes potential OT, holidays, weekends, and various shifts.Position Requirements:
Education and Certifications;
High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.Associates or higher college degree in Criminal Justice or Security Administration preferred.Must pass Officer Examination test within 6-12 months of hire205 hr OPOTA Certificate or CPO Certification(must be obtained within 6-12 months of hire)
Experience:

Additional Comments
This is a multiple shift function at Landmark Office Towers with varying hours. Our security team runs 24/7 with 3 different shifts. Officers enforce security policy and procedures and are responsible for the security and safety of the building and its tenants, and the protection of company assets. An Officer may be required to make immediate, frontline decisions in an emergency. A supervisor is present on each shift at all times to assist when needed.
New hires complete an initial 10 day training program side by side with a supervisor followed by extended on the job training
