Responsibilities: Work with little to no supervisionClean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machineryTroubleshoot/repair machinery such as slitters, collectors, high speed welders, conveyors, and palletizersInstall and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipmentRepair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipmentBuilding maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeepRepair and assess electrical issues as they ariseAble to familiarize yourself with our CMMS system and log labor/parts according to established expectationsMust be willing to work overtime, including weekends and off-shifts as requiredMust participate in on-call program and may be required to work additional hours on off shift due to on-call programUnderstands quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures. As our Maintenance Mechanic at Mauser Packaging Solutions in Mount Vernon, OH, you keep our line equipment running smoothly so we can deliver quality products to our customers on time. During shifts, your main job is to address any issues on the line as they crop up. You must be quick on your feet to get to the line, troubleshoot the issue, and repair it as quickly as possible, ensuring minimal downtime and complete safety at all times. You will also do preventative maintenance, repairs, and updates that cannot be done while the line is running. To thrive in this role, you must have electrical knowledge and experience, an impeccable safety record, and you must be reliable and show initiative. Here’s what you can expect on a typical day as a Maintenance Mechanic on our team at Mauser Packaging Solutions: Safety is our number one priority. You’ll learn our plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training including lockout/tagout, housekeeping, and 5S standards.Follow, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipmentExamine machine controls to install plate changeovers and start up machines for production needs when requiredPerform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machineryRepair basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switchesObserve and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of problemDismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective partsAdjust functional parts of devices and control instrumentsInspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirementsLubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plantDocument and track changeover times and recordAccomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiencyPerform other related duties as assignedWe take pride in our output and you take pride in ensuring our equipment is running smoothly and safely.High-Speed, Loud Environment.
