Norman Regional Hospital currently houses the largest hybrid operating room in the state of Oklahoma. Our nurses demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, and critical thinking skills while caring for a wide range of patient types. We orient new nurses to each of our surgical areas, spending time with dedicated preceptors in each area. Upon completion of orientation, nurses will be able to circulate cardiothoracic and vascular cases as well as a wide variety of other service lines. Responsibilities: Assists the surgeon during the operative procedure. Maintains a safe and aseptic environment in the Operating Room area. Qualifications: EducationCompletion of accredited Surgical Technologist program, achieved national certification in surgical technology, or five (5) consecutive years training/experience as a surgical tech.ExperienceMust have completed accredited Surgical Technology program, or must have five (5) consecutive years training/experience as a surgical tech or LPN with one (1) year surgical tech preferred.National Certification is highly preferred.(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).Licensure / CertificationCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.If Certified Surgical Technologist must have current certification.Currently Oklahoma LPN license required if applicable.
