Where you will work:This position will be based in Astound's Wilsonville, OR office
A Day in the Life of the Construction Technician:
Perform construction work including coaxial placement, splicing, MDU work including the placement of molding and drop cable, and underground work including service tie-insAssist in construction projects including relocations, new developments, MDUs, commercial and residential projectsPerform all work as necessary to conform to quality control guidelines (includes compliance with requirements outlined in applicable regulations such as: OSHA, FCC, and NEC, etc. and following procedures as outlined in the Installation, Technical, Operations, and Safety Manuals, and Employee Handbook)Operate equipment such as: Coax reel trailer, shovel, hole hog, tow behind air compressor and various other small tools and equipment related to industry standard construction projectsOther duties as assigned
What You Bring to the Table:
Experience with and ability to establish traffic control setups for various lane configuration scenarios as necessary to complete job responsibilitiesExperience with and the ability to read industry standard mapping such as AutoCAD and GISExperience with and the ability to load and unload a construction trailer, Fiber &Experience and the ability to run small excavating equipmentHands on experience related to various construction functions including cable and molding placement, splicing, conduit placement asphalt, concrete and grass restorationBasic knowledge and aptitude in electronicsFamiliarity with and experience using utility locating devicesFamiliarity with basic computer skills such as Microsoft Excel, Word andGoogleExcellent communication skills necessary to interact with customers, property managers, building engineers, City and governmental entity representativesAbility to read and comprehend RF/fiber design and underground infrastructure drawings.Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructionsAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organizationAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructionsMust be committed to providing exceptional customer service (both external and internal) at all timesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to perform duties at heights of up to 40'. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Able to work within the specifications, limitations and confines of a ladder.Abillity to perform job in outside weather conditions, with the risk of electrical shock and vibration.Ability to perform the job while exposed to high, precarious places.Ability to work within limited confines, such as crawl spaces.Must possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company

Base Salary: The base salary range in Oregon for this position is $20.00- $30.87 (per hour), plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Oregon and may not be applicable to other locations.
