ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Business ResultsOversee Finance staff that performs the following duties:Review, research and make recommendations on approving customer credit and debit memos Research, track and resolve AP Expenses and related issuesMonitor R&M TrackersVendor Set up and Check RequestsProcess Expenses for reloadable cardsPerform month end close processes of accruals, reclass journal entries, reviewing spreadsheets for journal entries and review of P&L to research differences to Business PlanPayroll Direct oversight of Area payroll staff Ensure timely and accurate upload of payroll dataWork collaboratively with Area department managers, HR and NSC payroll team to ensure timely submission of payroll dataMonitor requests and reasons for Off Cycle paychecks to support Area Finance Manager and Director’s efforts to reduce payroll errorsResearch and resolve department manager and employee payroll questionsAssist Sales and Operations personnel with variable compensation calculations as directed by Area Finance ManagerTrain and coordinate payroll staff schedules to ensure adequate knowledge of payroll duties are in place at all times. Understanding of union contracts and component pay. Finance Supervisor is expected to be able to perform payroll duties as necessary.Responsible for Kronos System and Workday administration including:Coordinate with Support Office Payroll on changes needed for AreaWage rulesPTO rulesCorrect departments & wage rates in WorkdayPlanning & ForecastingSupport Area Finance Manager in the development of the Area’s annual budget (BP) and forecasts:Perform assigned components of the BP such as SG&A costsPrepare components of weekly financial results (FLASH) and monthly Balance of Year (BOY) as directedFinancial Reporting and AnalysisSupport Area Finance Manager and Centralized Accounting (FSC) to create and deliver timely and accurate financial statements:Prepare journal entriesResearch, track, and resolve accounting issuesPrepare or research various financial items for reporting purposes (i.e. Period commentary, ad hoc reporting, etc) as directed by Area Finance ManagerInternal Controls Ensure Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) compliance throughout Area:Ensure SOx and internal controls within span of control are performed timely and accuratelyProvide support to the Area Finance Manager for Market and Hub internal control issues Management of fixed assets recordsLeads Area Finance Team Members Direct oversight of Payroll and Accounting Specialist in multi-site environment including:Interviewing, hiring decisions, promotions, salary increases, disciplinary actions and terminationsGuide, coach and development of the Payroll and Accounting Specialist Coordinate efforts of direct reports to ensure that daily, monthly and quarterly responsibilities are metFunction as back up for Area Finance Manager on limited, as-needed basisComplete ad hoc projects and analysis as requestedTravel as necessary up to 25%SUPERVISIONPayroll Clerks and Accounting SpecialistRELATIONSHIPSInternal: Area Finance Manager, Area Finance Director, Audit Services, Buyers, Sales and Operations Staff, Department Managers, FSC and HRExternal: NoneQUALIFICATIONSEducation/Training: BS in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent required.Related Experience/Requirements: Must possess minimum of five years accounting and/or financial analysis experience or two years in public accounting. Industry experience is preferred. Prior experience supervising an accounting, financial analysis or public accounting staff preferred. Multi-site supervisory experience preferred. Overnight travel may be required to participate in trainings, meetings, or other company events.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOX. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills a must. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels in the organization. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Ability to prioritize activities in a multi-tasked environment required. Working knowledge of Kronos, WorkDay and PeopleSoft preferred.#LI-DL2Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
