MHS is seeking a part-time Dining Room Worker (DRW) to join the Food Services team. This position is responsible for assisting in preparing, servicing, portioning, and monitoring the school cafeteria meals for staff and students. Additional duties include but are not limited to assisting in the set up & monitoring of tables, service areas and dish washing, cleaning up the dining room & Food Service facilities after the meals are served, preparing, and servicing & supporting a variety of catered events/functions on campus, and performing other duties as assigned. This is year-round position with standard work schedule of Monday – Thursday, 12:30 pm – 8:00 pm, up 29 hours per week. Flexibility with the schedule is essential to meet the needs of the students (earlier starts, occasional weekends & evenings for catering). Bargaining unit position with OPS-464. The starting pay for this position is $20.30 an hour, and after the probationary period (1 year) the pay will increase. The part-time DRW may work catering functions prior to and/or beyond the normal regular work/shift schedule (plus shift differential). Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required.Prior food services, kitchen, catering or customer service experience preferred.Experience in Safe Food handling practices preferred.Valid NSF Serv Safe Certification or ability to obtain upon hire within six months.Valid PA Driver’s license in good standing.Ability to operate and care for institutional large kitchen equipment (convection ovens, dishwashers, and other kitchen utilities).Physically capable of lifting and/or carrying up to 50+ pounds on a frequent basis.Ability to respond to customer service-related issues in a professional manner. This position is responsible for providing services including but NOT limited to braided styles, two-strand twist, some pressing, haircuts, etc. We provide general hair care to students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Enhancing and maintaining healthy hair for students by providing instruction in grooming and hygiene is also an important part of the job. Work schedule: up to 29 hours per week, Monday through Saturday. Stylists should be available to work Monday through Thursday starting at 3:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. and occasional Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings as needed from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Approximately 20-29 hours per week when students are in school, and it cannot be guaranteed as it’s determined by scheduling requests from the students. This position is paid at an hourly rate (NOT “per head/tip basis”). Hourly pay rate: $22.71 to $37.41, pay is determined based on experience. This position assists the medical services department and the school nurses providing high-quality health care by transporting students to/from off-campus appointments and attending the appointments with them. Furthermore, this role is responsible for delivering medications to the student homes on campus. The hours for this position will not exceed 29 hours per week and the ability to be flexible with the schedule is required.
