MHS is currently seeking part-time Hairstylists to work up to 29 hours a week in the School’s Hair Salon – Spartan Styles. This position is responsible for providing services including but NOT limited to braided styles, two-strand twist, some pressing, haircuts, etc. We provide general hair care to students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Enhancing and maintaining healthy hair for students by providing instruction in grooming and hygiene is also an important part of the job. Work schedule: up to 29 hours per week, Monday through Saturday. Stylists should be available to work Monday through Thursday starting at 3:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. and occasional Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings as needed from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Approximately 20-29 hours per week when students are in school, and it cannot be guaranteed as it’s determined by scheduling requests from the students. This position is paid at an hourly rate (NOT “per head/tip basis”). Hourly pay rate: $22.71 to $37.41, pay is determined based on experience. Cosmetology License.Prior experience working in a professional beauty/barber shop, preferred. Strong Braiding skills.Scissor cuts experience requires. Experience working with multicultural hair. Supporting pavement function which will entail site set up and clean up, site layout and barrier, cone, traffic control materials, preparing machinery, loading the truck and unloading the truck
