MHS is seeking a part-time 10-month* Dining Room Worker (DRW) for its growing Food Services Department. This position is responsible for assisting in preparing, servicing, portioning, and monitoring the school cafeteria meals for staff and students. Additional duties include but are not limited to assisting in the set up & monitoring of tables, service areas and dish washing, cleaning up the dining room & Food Service facilities after the meals are served, preparing, and servicing a variety of catered events, and performing other duties as assigned. The standard work schedule for this position is flex Monday through Friday up to 29 hours per week. *A 10-Month work schedule typically includes summer and school breaks off. Flexibility with the schedule is essential in this position to meet the needs of the school (earlier starts, occasional weekends & evenings for catering). The part-time DRW may work catering functions prior to and/or beyond the normal regular work/shift schedule (plus shift differential). Bargaining unit position with OPS-464. Starting pay: $20.30 per hour and after the probationary period (1 year) the pay will increase accordingly with the school year. MHS is currently seeking part-time Hairstylists to work up to 29 hours a week in the School’s Hair Salon – Spartan Styles. This position is responsible for providing services including but NOT limited to braided styles, two-strand twist, some pressing, haircuts, etc. We provide general hair care to students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Enhancing and maintaining healthy hair for students by providing instruction in grooming and hygiene is also an important part of the job. Work schedule: up to 29 hours per week, Monday through Saturday. Stylists should be available to work Monday through Thursday starting at 3:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. and occasional Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings as needed from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Approximately 20-29 hours per week when students are in school, and it cannot be guaranteed as it’s determined by scheduling requests from the students. This position is paid at an hourly rate (NOT “per head/tip basis”). Hourly pay rate: $22.71 to $37.41, pay is determined based on experience. Cosmetology License.Prior experience working in a professional beauty/barber shop, preferred. Strong Braiding skills.Scissor cuts experience requires. Experience working with multicultural hair. Demonstrated professional demeanor and solid time management & organizational skills required.Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a diverse workplace and to interact professionally with adults, children, and youth.Skills in Microsoft & Google applications, Internet, preferred.Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
