Assists in providing quick, easy, and appropriate access to all patient services at Sanford USD Medical Center. Communicates patient information pertaining to testing and procedures and information on accessing Sanford USD Medical Center to clinic staff. Ensures documentation of medical necessity according to the regulatory guidelines applicable to Medicare Local and National Coverage Decisions. Acts as a resource to the clinic staff regarding testing and procedures at Sanford USD Medical Center. Works with departments to resolve complex scheduling issues adapting services to patient needs. Provides patient teaching regarding testing and diagnostic procedures. Must possess a breadth of clinical expertise and have a broad background of clinical experience in addition to an understanding of the growth and developmental needs of all age groups.This position requires a strong commitment to outstanding service and clear customer focus. Exceptional skills in relationship building, communication, negotiation and problem solving are necessary. Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
