This role is responsible for safe execution of scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities, training, and safety exercises. This job also maintains accountability and readiness of plant tools, equipment, and vehicles; provides technical guidance to the O&M team; tracks, and maintains records of service activities both scheduled and unscheduled through the digital maintenance management system; and helps maintain the work ethic and culture of the plant O&M team.Role Responsibilities:Assure that all operation and maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner consistent with policies and procedures established for the wind farm siteAssist in conducting acceptance and performance tests on systems and equipment following planned maintenance or outagesPerform safety and other wind farm related tasks when assigned and fill in as back up to personnel at other RWE sites when necessaryAssist with turbine maintenance including services, major component work and replacement, and troubleshootingAssist with Balance of Plant procedures as needed, including substation and collection system maintenanceAdherence to the company’s values and behaviorsOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by the managerJob Requirements and Experiences:High School Diploma or equivalent required;Associate degree in Sciences or related field from an accredited school preferredMinimum 7years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission and/or distribution, with at least 4 years of wind turbine experience(Vestas, GE, Acciona, Nordex) Wind Turbine (Can be edited to include a certain WTG platform) Experience preferredAlternatively 2 year or 4 year college degree from an accredited school (other than correspondence or on-line) in a technical science like engineering, physics, power, or closely similarMilitary experience in a technical field (electrical, electronics or mechanical)License or Certification experience substitutions include Current Journeyman, Current Master Elecrician License, and Wind Tech CertificateUnrestricted driver license in good standingWilling to relocate to within 1 hour drive of siteAbility to follow and create standard work instructionsAbility to lead crane rigging & signaling operations, and train others in the fieldKnowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power tools and train others in the fieldKnowledge of environmental and safety policies and proceduresAbility to work within tight deadlinesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned Expert PC/Laptop skills and ability to train othersAbility to create, save, manipulate text, formats & formulas in documents and spreadsheets in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and utilize Teams for meetings, and ability to train othersAbility to independently prepare & present technical presentationsAbility to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a teamMotivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilitiesAbility to independently perform complex troubleshooting and repairs of electromechanical systems, and train others in the fieldAbility to read, interpret, and follow electrical, mechanical, & hydraulic circuit drawings, and ability to train othersIdentify energy isolation points and implement LOTO for protectionExpert understanding of electromechanical relay, hydraulic accumulator, linear transducer, and electrical motor, and ability to train othersExpert knowledge of power electronics, motor drives, AC/DC converters, and ability to train othersKnowledge of computer network communication protocol and theory of operation is desiredAbility to understand and communicate root causes requiredGood communication skills and must value being part of a teamSafety- Promote safety for all at all timesAbility to fill out JHA/LOTO/Tailboard forms without assistance and ability to train othersInitiative - Able to work with minimum supervision and make decisions for all issues related to his/her discipline(s) with limited and/or available informationWind Farm site location including work in and around energized wind turbine generators and balance of plant equipment (substation, pad mount transformers, etc.). The work will occur within an office, warehouse, in turbines and outdoorsPhysical Requirements:Must be able to maintain a personal weight limitation of 270 lbs.Must be able to climb wind towers on a daily basis.
