Operate all Nuclear Medicine cameras, computers and related equipment, efficiently and effectively.Complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing workflow. Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute & challenging patients; possess skill to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed. Possess knowledge of disease processes, adequately image these findings and communicate them to the Radiologist. Perform radioactive therapy procedures according to Nuclear Medicine Policies and Procedures and the Radioactive Material License. Employ techniques to minimize radiation exposure by adhering to the ALARA program. Adhere to radiation plan, consistently demonstrates an awareness of radiation safety practices. Explain procedures to patients and family in terms they understand, attempts to clarify any misconceptions. Maintain awareness of patient safety, patient privacy, confidentiality and dignity at all times. Reflect SDH Service Excellence standards in every interaction.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Required: Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or a military training program of equivalent standards. Preferred: Associate Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology.
