We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe RCS/Student will serve as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance and by caring for the appropriate patient population. Provide respiratory care, such as electrocardiograms, and, non-invasive therapy, as ordered by physicians, according to established standards and practices. Perform a variety of duties relative to non-invasive therapy, cleaning, disinfecting, and storing respiratory therapy equipment and restocking of supplies.What you will do in this role:You will perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.You will assist with placement of artificial airways. You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.You will administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.You will cite indications, contraindications, risks, and benefits for venoarterial and venovenous ECMO support.You will prepare and operate clinical equipment and circuitry per ECMO policies/procedures.You will perform all circulatory technical skills with efficiency, accuracy and safety while anticipating, troubleshooting, intervening, and managing crises/emergency situations according to policy and procedure.What qualifications you will need:Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateHigh School Graduate / GEDVocational School Graduate, or Associate Degree· American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification · RRT within 90 days after graduation · RCP licensure by TMB within 90 after graduation Medical City Arlington is a 435+ bed full-service hospital located in south Arlington.
