Overview: GovCIO is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Special Security Representative (SSR) to join our team and support the planning, execution, and completion of various 616 Operations Center (OC) and 616 Air and Space Communications Squadron (ACOMS), operations. The SSR will serve as the primary security manager for our Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). This position will be located in San Antonio, TX and will be an onsite position. Responsibilities: Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Conducts risk assessments and provides recommendations for application design. Involved in a wide range of computer security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research. Prepares security reports for government agencies.Performs a wide range of computer security duties, including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.Participates in the certification and accreditation processes; performs technical vulnerability assessments of computer security.Provides business continuity and disaster recovery support.Engages in intrusion detection and prevention; provides incident reporting and response support.Conducts ongoing monitoring of computer security requirements and compliance, maintains system security plans and risk mitigation plans.Trains clients in proper computer security measures and prevention.Client Specific ResponsibilitiesServes as the principal security manager for the SCIF, overseeing all security activities and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.Controls and monitors access to the SCIF, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry.Maintains and enforces security protocols for handling classified information, safeguarding sensitive data, and protecting SCI material.Ensures the SCIF remains in compliance by meeting all physical and technical security requirements needed for inspections and accreditations.Monitors personnel security processes, including clearance investigations, periodic reinvestigations, and security indoctrinations.Maintains all necessary documentation related to SCIF operations, including access control logs, visitor logs, and classified information control records.Liaises with government and agency security personnel to ensure alignment with national security policies.Supports audits and security reviews conducted by internal and external authorities.Ensures compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and other relevant guidance.Acts as the Point of Contact (POC) for the Portable Electronic Device (PED) approval process, ensuring compliance with SCIF security protocols for any electronic devices and overseeing the screening and authorization of items entering and/or leaving the SCIF.
