Essential Functions and Duties: Handle and investigate requests from the County residents, government entities, and internal requests pertaining to the District's infrastructure. Identify channel maintenance repair solutions, costs, priorities, and schedules. Research the District's archived information, property rights, construction plans, historical data and existing right-of-way information. Handle requests for use and obtain rights-of-entry from private landowners to facilitate proposed channel maintenance activities. Prepare correspondence and reports in response to various internal and external letter requests. Monitor, define and direct channel maintenance activities along various channel systems within assigned territory. Provide updates to management on ROW activities, status, issues and provide recommendations. Communicate with the public and various governmental representatives. Provide budgeting information in support of the District’s annual maintenance budget. Obtain County Attorney’s legal opinion on right-of-way issues, if needed. Develop and maintain programs and plans for the maintenance of the District’s drainage facilities. Monitor flooding events and assist in the documentation of such events. Responsible for observing, inspecting, and documenting work-in-progress on construction project sites to ensure the work is being performed in accordance with sealed and approved construction plans, sound construction practices, and all applicable local, state, and federal permitting and approvals. Document, photograph, and maintain daily reports summarizing construction progress, scheduling, workmanship, and deficiencies of construction materials and methods. Collect and review supporting documentation for payment of work performed, consisting of delivery tickets, invoices, product labels, sketches, calculations, and other related records that identify approved materials and products used to support quantities for payment. Prepare for and communicate substantial completion and final walk-through of projects to address any questions or concerns and finalize completion punch list with assigned contractor. Reporting to the Crew Leader, the Laborer is responsible for operating gasoline powered equipment and various hand tools used in the daily operation of maintaining clear channels, drainage elements and rights of ways in accordance with the District’s mission to maintain the Infrastructure.
Essential Functions and Duties: Cut and chop weeds and other types of vegetation using gasoline-powered equipment such as weed eaters and non-powered hand tools such as machetes, axes, or tree trimmers. Spray herbicides on selected weeds and grasses using filled backpacks that weigh between 25 and 30lbs. Remove and stack cut vegetation in, along and around channels, drainage elements and rights-of ways using hand rakes or pitchforks. May enter the channel in water up to three feet in depth or from the bank to dislodge and remove drifts and debris (trees, limbs, brush, vines, trash, and refuse) that impede water flow around and under bridges or other areas. May perform other duties that can be added or changed as the course and scope of the job directs.

The Facility Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that smaller multiple facilities or a larger complex facility has their physical structure and plant maintained and repaired in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Establishes, prioritizes, and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Monitors Building Automation Systems (BAS). Reviews, records, and analyzes energy usage and costs. Determines better cost-effective approaches to reduce cost and energy usage. Directs workers engaged in maintaining the facility’s physical structure including plumbing, carpentry; painting; plastering; machine servicing; janitorial; general grounds; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; security; and electrical systems. Directs workers engaged in ground maintenance activities including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse. Directs workers assisting other departments as requested, including moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies needed to effectively maintain and operate the facility. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
