An upscale senior living community is seeking an experienced Director of Operations. The Director of Operations oversees compliance of industry standards, work procedures, and upholds a positive culture and accountability. Support our growing senior living communities by providing effective operations oversight by emphasizing the attention to details. In conjunction with the VP of Operations, establish, implement and improve policies and work procedures for departmental operations. Support operation initiatives with Directors in conjunction with the VP of Operations and Director of Development Operations, responsible for leading and directing strategic planning, administration, and coordination of the Hospitality Programs, ensuring excellence in all aspects of the operation of the programs; and directing and leading special projects and initiatives. Assist with new community openings, projects, procurement, as necessary. Responsible for delegating responsibility and accountability to the responsible ED. Support organization of annual community events/clinics by obtaining pricing and other strategic operational issues to present to VP of Operations for approval (e.g., Flu Clinic, CPR training) Work with corporate maintenance when necessary to ensure inspections, permits, licenses, and certificates are up to date and saved to appropriate efiles. Supporting and at times initiating continuous improvement initiatives and facilitating communication for corporate operations. Assist in streamlining annual (monthly) calendars by department, Maintenance, Transportation, Housekeeping, F&B and Social programming. Conduct new lease file audits on a regular basis to ensure compliance with financial goals. Ensure contracts are in the best interest of our facilities and budgets. Assist communities in negotiating vendor rates that provide services at our multiple communities. Maintains excellent relationships with team members, residents, guests and clients. Demonstrate an attitude of teamwork when interacting with community team members; take ownership of job responsibilities through prompt and appropriate follow-up to issues as they arise (ensuring appropriate resolution); anticipate needs of residents and/or community team members in a proactive fashion. Assist in efforts related to recruitment, hiring, development and employee relations. Assist in training resources for continued education of team members.
