Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures, some of a more complex nature, utilizing state of the art computerized diagnostic imaging equipment. Demonstrates competency with starting and maintaining intravenous (IV) access and the use of high speed, pressurized injection equipment. Must possess the ability and willingness to rotate within departments and clinics for proper coverage Assists Radiologist in invasive and biopsy type procedures using CT equipment to pinpoint anatomical locations. Ensures that exam rooms are neat, clean, and adequately stocked prior to exams being performed and acts to ensure compliance with Infection Control standards. Ensures all charges are correctly coded and entered. Appropriately adapts to assigned patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific and other developmental needs of each patient served. Performs all routine echocardiograms for evaluation of possible abnormal heart defects or disease. Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms. Performs stress echocardiograms to evaluate for coronary artery disease. Notifies physicians daily for exam interpretation. Checks weekly for needed supplies. Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the age specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department. Appropriately adapts assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate age-specific or other developmental needs of of the patient.
