The Harris County Flood Control District is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. Recruitment & Hiring: Manage the District's recruiting and hiring processes to attract and select qualified candidates for open positions. Post job openings across various job boards and internal platforms, ensuring maximum visibility to potential applicants. Screen resumes and job applications, forwarding qualified candidates to hiring managers for review and consideration. Conduct periodic reviews of job descriptions, updating them to reflect changes in duties and responsibilities as needed. Assist with background screenings and reference checks to verify candidate work history. Collaborate with hiring managers to identify necessary skills and competencies for open positions, ensuring timely and effective recruitment. Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation, including an overview of District and county policies, benefits, and mandatory training. Additional Responsibilities and Duties: Support the management of unemployment claims by preparing responses and gathering relevant information for appeal hearings.
