Today, Higginbotham Brothers supplies professional builders, remodelers and do-it-yourselfers with lumber and a deep catalog of specialty building products, including hardware, windows, doors, plumbing materials and interior/exterior paint, from its 40 locations across Texas and Oklahoma.A Brief OverviewThe CDL Driver I delivers materials to job site, inspects and maintains truck, reports shortages and claims to supervisor and assists in loading and storing of materials. Typically, driving a truck with a capacity of more than three tons, but may be a less experienced CDL or tractor trailer driver.What you will doOperate safely.Participate in a positive work environment.Maintain a current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License as required.Prepare DOT required log of time on duty and driving.Organize and secure load.Assist forklift operators when loading.Check orders for accuracy.Deliver and unload materials to customers' satisfaction.Complete daily equipment pre-inspection.Record all merchandise that is returned by truck, assist in unloading material returned for credit.Follow guidelines established by the Department of Transportation.Provide excellent customer service.Relay messages sent by customers while on job.Assist supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned.Assist in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse.Comply with all company policies and guidelines.Operate truck mounted forklift safely and efficently.Maintain cleanliness of truck.Participate in and complete assigned trainings.Required For All JobsPerform other duties as assigned.Comply with all policies and standards.Adheres to Company's commitment to workplace safety.Education QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.Experience Qualifications6 months CDL experience preferred.Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required.1 year CDL experience required for interstate commerce.Skills and AbilitiesAbility to do basic math, read orders, write instructions and complete forms.Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.Maintain current operator's license and meet company driver qualification requirements.Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications).Licenses and CertificationsClass A CDL License or Class B CDL License required.For Boom Crane CDL Driver positions - a Certified Drill Rig Operator-NCCCO Boom Certification preferred - maintain active accredited certification for equipment type (e.g. NCCCO, NCCER, CIC) preferred.Additional Potential Opportunities based on experience:CDL Driver IICDL Long haulCDL Wide LoadCDL Driver Boom CraneHigginbotham Brothers (HBC) , a Division of US LBM Holdings, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
