The Traffic Control Technician is responsible for setting up and taking down lane closures and ensuring the safety of assigned traffic control projects. This role involves performing lane closures on state highways and other roadways, redirecting traffic for workers or survey crews, and working independently or as part of a traffic control crew. Additionally, the role also involves assembling, delivering, and picking up safety products from job sites, following contractor directions.
Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites. Drive MOT (Management of Traffic) vehicle to and from projects and on work sites. Drive TMA (Truck Mounted Attenuator) vehicle to and from projects and on work sites to protect workers and work zones. Place temporary construction signs in work areas. Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas. Set up traffic cones and other traffic safety devices in work areas. Monitor the work zone throughout the shift to ensure items remain in their proper locations. Collect and load traffic control items at the beginning and end of shifts. Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports. Perform shop work, including general maintenance and repair of equipment. Follow all safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe work environment. Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Participates in monthly backlog review. Provides ongoing cost and estimate analysis reporting. Manages allocation of costs to financial reporting systems.Uses Johnson Controls standard tracking and reporting tools to effectively communicate project progress and financial status to management. Proactively investigates opportunities for improvements in the project scope that will result in value added change orders.Performs associated cost estimates, prepares proposals and secures customer acceptance. Responsible for asset management including collections, cost control, progress billings and payables.Oversees assigned projects for compliance with specifications, local codes and installation techniques. Consistently negotiate buy out of materials, equipment and subcontracts and resolve disputes.Manages material procurement, warehousing and logistics processes. Provides high quality written communications.Ensures project document controls comply with contract requirements and Johnson Controls standards.Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with customers and subcontractors. Leads job progress meetings as required.Ensures subcontractors understand expectations of the project. Owns and manages project execution plan including updating the project schedule. Ensures close out transition to appropriate Johnson Controls Truck-based team is achieved.Coordinates performance of owner training requirements. Adheres to safety standards. Ensures that Johnson Controls team members, and subcontractors adhere to safety standards.What we look for Six or more years of comprehensive, technical and operational knowledge of the HVAC service business, particularly related to smaller fast track retrofit, remodel and tenant improvement types of projects.Leads assigned Mechanics on a portfolio of projects typically $3-4M in revenue.Two to four years of engineering or trade school training such as an engineering degree or equivalent is preferred.Installation and Service experience related to complex HVAC Mechanical systems and equipment is desired.Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.Must have the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.Proficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems. Strong Personal Computer capabilities in MS Office (excel, word, power point), Adobe Writer, Visio and basic Windows environment.
