A Day in the Life of the Broadband Service Technician:
The Broadband Service Technician is responsible for residential installation, service/repair, and disconnections for data, video, and phone on the customer premises with a high level of focus on customer service, customer education, and quality of work. This role will be responsible for ensuring and recording correct RF signal levels. The BST is required to communicate with leadership and dispatch, as well as assist supervisors and technicians with escalations and specialized work orders. This role participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Residential install, service/repair, and disconnects* (data, video, phone) on customer premisesAssist supervisors and technicians with escalations and specialized work ordersEnsure/record correct RF and signal levels within specificationsCommunication with leadership and dispatch as neededCustomer educationOperate company vehicle in safe and responsible mannerParticipation in a 24/7 on-call rotationOther duties as assigned
What You Bring to the Table:
Education: High school diploma or equivalentExperience: 6+ months satisfactory metrics OR 2-3 years as a telecommunications technicianCompetencies: Maintain satisfactory driving record and have a valid driver's license; Ability to differentiate and effectively communicate to customers advanced phone/IP networks and POS systemsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ladder; Hand or Power Tools; Customer Service; Communication (verbal, written); Basic Computer Skills; Aptitude to learn to skills; Problem solving; Time Management; Teamwork; Working alone
