Job Description:The Ultrasound Tech provides excellent customer service by performing ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis.Job EssentialsEnsures proper patient identification, verifies orders, and prepares patients for exams.Uses proper imaging techniques to ensure timely, safe, and high quality diagnostic exams.Demonstrates the ability to perform any exam on all ages of patients (neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics) using appropriate protocol and following ACR guidelines.Demonstrates proficiency on all clinical equipment within the department.Completes and annotates a medically acceptable exam, following ACR guidelines while producing the maximum diagnostic information in a minimal amount of time.Follows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtaining consents if necessary, documenting any events that may occur, for quality, maintaining a current QC program for ACR and reporting any equipment failures or problems.Exhibits good safety practices in body substance protection, cleaning of equipment, using proper sterile techniques, and removing any expired materials.Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.Shift Details PRN position (on-call/as needed)Expected coverage: Days/swings, weekdays/weekends, on-call shifts and will be on the Holiday rotation.Minimum QualificationsARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry. Job Description:The MRI technologist is responsible for compassionate and appropriate patient care while performing MRI examinations under the direction of a physician to assist in the medical diagnosis or treatment of injury.The scope of responsibility includes facilities and departments as assigned by Imaging Services leadership and includes temporary shift assignments.Core responsibilities of this role include:Understands MRI safety concepts and executes them diligently and consistently to maintain magnet safety for patients, guests, self, and fellow caregivers.Understands MRI scanning parameters and, in coordination with the radiologist, selects appropriate technical parameters and scanning techniques to ensure clinical exams are of good quality.Ensures proper patient identification, order identification, and prepares the patient appropriately for the exam.Performs MRI examinations according to system and department standard protocols.Understands cross sectional anatomy and demonstrates appropriate anatomical positioning and multiplanar image reconstruction.Under the direction of the radiologist or supervising clinician, performs contrast and medication administration inherent to MRI examination,Maintains competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job.Follows appropriate Intermountain policy and procedure including clinical documentation, billing, and electronic medical record workflows.*Will also consider a Specialty Tech in Training.(Minimum qualifications below)Shift Details PRN shift (on-call/as needed)needs to be able to cover any shifts, day and night, on-call and will be in the holiday schedule rotation.Minimum Qualifications*MRI TechARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification-or-ARRT(R) certification with at least 1 year full-time experience in MRIBasic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers*Specialty Tech in TrainingTrainingCurrently attending and receiving formal Ultrasound, MRI, Nuclear Medicine training from an accredited training program. -or-Successful completion of formal training from an approved/accredited school with Radiologic Technology (RT) Certification.
