Job Description:The Clinical Psychologist is a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing, and other disciplines to provide holistic or comprehensive medical and counseling services to patients. They interview patients and give diagnostic tests. Additionally, the Clinical Psychologist provides individual, family or group psychotherapy, and collaborates with the behavioral health team to develop and implement behavior modification programs, with treatment and intervention programs that patients can understand and comply with.Job EssentialsAssesses the patient's medical history, mental health history, and current presentation to understand the patient's needs from treatment.Diagnoses and treats various mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.Develops a plan of care either individually or with input from the patient, patient family/significant others, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.Provides treatment based on patient need and evidenced based interventions.Refers patients to other services to improve their well-being.
