Description Leidos is hiring a GIS Developer to work with a Government-Contractor team providing a near real-time, geospatially accurate Common Operating Picture (COP) to support mission requirements. This COP enables sharing and reuse of geospatial intelligence across multiple function areas in support of military operations. The GIS Developer will support systems responsible for processing, exploitation, and dissemination of multi-discipline and multi-sensor intelligence, mapping, and weather information to weapon systemplatforms and Warfighters.Primary ResponsibilitiesUnderstanding of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) software as well as software engineering and programming for GIS systems in large computer and minicomputer and microprocessor systems supporting broad base of applications.Develops and maintains GIS software programs, performs software coding and writes software documentation to design specifications.Designs and implements data conversion procedures and performs software and database quality control.Ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of systems.Performs detailed software design and detailed database conversion design and is directly involved in the coding and implementation of the more complex and strategic portions of application software and database conversion projects.Confirms that GIS data remains at established quality standards.Oversees quality assurance testing for GIS software programs.Basic QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree (Geographic Information Science, computer science, cartographic science, geology, social science, environmental science or related technical field) and 4 years of experience OR Master's Degree and 2 years of experience. 4 years work experience, OR Associate's Degree plus 2 years of experience, may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.Experience with geospatial programing, including ArcGIS; proficient in ESRI product languages, programming languages, Internet markup languages. This technician will support a large federal agency’s Network Infrastructure through survey, design, and deployment of structured networks and will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture of the environment. This is accomplished through projects such as new installations, life cycle replacement projects, Cable Plant and wireless installations that are compliant with commercial, TEMPEST, and NIST standards.Clearance Requirement:•Must hold an active Top Secret security clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI.
