Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the leading Cloud Compute provider in the industry and we are looking for a Business Manager to support our Building & Infrastructure Engineering team. Our team, consist of Architects and building Engineers working together to design and construct data centers (DCs) enabling AWS Services, ranging from cloud storage to Generative AI. We design operator-friendly and cost-effective buildings located across North and South America (AMER). As the Business Manager for our team, you will facilitate the three-year strategic planning process for engineering, create and track annual goals that align with the strategic vision, you will create and distribute reporting on resourcing, define and report on monthly performance metrics and partner with other Business Managers across the organization drive the near and long-term mission. You will provide technical expertise in developing tooling and dashboards, including (1) the various infrastructure drivers and metrics that impact headcount scaling; and (2) audit to ensure parity between engineering resource supply and demand (3) support the key inputs that affect hiring and productivity. In addition, you will engage with partner teams, and in some cases, external to AWS to facilitate off-site events with senior executives to advance Engineering initiatives, coordinating business activities with partners in Talent Acquisition and Human Resources. Lastly, you will be an authority on operational guidance such as global expense policy, and remediation of policy and software risks for Engineering.The ideal candidates will have analytical abilities, demonstrate business acumen, show curiosity, and written and verbal communication skills. Implement monthly tracking mechanisms to monitor and report on status of delivery for the subject goals, analytic prioritization, and ensure clear reporting on the most critical goals to the Director of Data Center Design Engineering.• Develop, maintain and track project intake, work balance between regions and disciplines, hiring targets, which incorporate expected attrition and pending starts, and analysis of actual hiring activity against these targets on a monthly basis. In addition, facilitate Design Engineering leadership’s active management of hiring against performance goals, and produce associated weekly and monthly hiring reports. Support DE management team through weekly reporting on internal performance metrics• Facilitate DE AMER monthly business review reporting on key indicators, voice of the customer, goal progress and progress on 3 year strategic plan. Reporting should include tracking of correction of error (COEs), staff training and other key performance indicators.• Develop quarterly analyses, reporting, and recommendations on Americas Design Engineering productivity, which includes analyses of inputs/metrics that influence productivity, performance against such inputs/metrics, and recommendations to ensure Americas Design Engineering meets productivity goals.• Develop analyses, recommendations, and related mechanisms to assess Americas Design Engineering employee experience, and drive actions to continuously raise the bar for a positive experience. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
