The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required (preferred NICET Certification in Special Hazards Suppression Systems).EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree in a technical discipline (preferred associates degree in fire protection); or one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and understand written instructions, e.g. safety notices and rules, test procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, etc. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply all basic math functions, e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.COMPUTER SKILLS: Demonstrated ability to work within Microsoft Office applications. Ability to type preferred.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to reason in a teamwork atmosphere. The noise in the work environment is moderate. Temperature extremes are regulated, but not as closely as typical indoor offices.
