TITLE: Electrical Engineering Root Cause / Production Engineering (SWAT) Engineer DUTIES: Root cause issues on vehicles at all stated levels of build. Identify issues and root cause, identify ownership of the issue, and drive issue to resolution. Work on early prototype builds to review Process Standards, Functional Objectives, and Fault matrixes. Root cause vehicles thru development process. Review, support, and run process standard reviews, as required, where they apply to in plant testing. Root cause warranty issues at dealerships, and production as needed. Support and validate in plant testing equipment. Electrical system readiness for launches at the plant Test driving vehicles. Debug mule builds and assess whether issues are relevant to the production intended vehicles. Carry issues forward to production design team. Develop a cross functional team to manage process standards, functional objectives, and fault setting criteria for in-plant testing. Track and report status of completion to Sr. Management. Debug Plywood buck after build-up. Identify component communication issues and work with engineers to resolve hardware and software issues. Run end of line in-plant test scripts to insure modules are responding correctly and test script is written to align with the associated plant. Document issues and follow to closure. Set up and lead the plant Quality Team prior to in-plant vehicle builds. During in-plant builds, manage all electrical testing issues with Quality Team to ensure quick resolution. Ensure all manufacturing issues are identified and reported to the manufacturing team for quick resolution. Present electrical test launch status in daily and weekly reports, and present to Sr. Management at executive reviews. Track and root cause captive and fast feedback vehicles during testing. Communicate with dealers on customer issues. Travel to dealerships to work on customer vehicles to expedite problem resolution. Up to 20% domestic travel is required.

The Die Engineer is responsible for supporting all die and hem die issues that occur in production. Issues include purchased commodities, surface defects, dimensional conformance, broken dies, and product ionizing events. The Die Engineer will review CN requests for feasibility, cost, and timing for current model requirements. Work with CTC, steel lab, and steel suppliers on MCM requests (Material Conservation Management). Support, lead, and assist all World Class Manufacturing (WCM) team initiatives by actively participating as a core member on WCM Teams to meet plant WCM objectives. Support plant for die design and product model management for die operation requirements. Lead die change requirements or initiatives required to meet overall Cp/Cpk, surface, engineering change requirements, and corporate targets for current model dies. Detail all issues in PowerPoint format, relay the necessary information to management/supervision, and follow the change throughout the process while working with the team to meet objective results. Work with ASME, Product Engineering, and Suppliers so that new model draw dies attain safe formability, are designed and built to attain desired surface quality and dimensional conformance, and run at designed line rates (throughput). Perform static and dynamic reviews for new model dies. Write MCNs, requests, and review allocated MCN correctness as needed for new model dies. Participate with new model launch team on all T-set events. Attend all PFMEA meetings for new model dies. Support advanced feasibility and cost initiatives from Product Engineering for E/C changes to current production tools. Support new construction/tool additions with ASME for needed product as required. Follow die construction at supplier through internal launch. Support PER studies/requests for internal assemblies and external details. Lead engineering change implementation on current production tools (layout/dimensional locations/graphics/templates/machining programs). Supply necessary information for proper component purchases as required.
