This patient population's diversity is comparable to that of the Emergency Department, so nurses learn many skills that can take them anywhere in Cleveland Clinic.A caregiver in this position works as needed on day, evening, night and/or weekend shifts.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide direct nursing care.Implement and monitor patient care plans.Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).External applicants: two years of recent nursing experience.
