The Purchasing Assistant is an entry-level position that plays a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of our supply chain. You will be responsible for providing administrative and operational support, assisting with the preparation of key procurement documents, and tracking orders to ensure timely deliveries.
Support the Purchasing Department in preparing RFQs (Request for Quotation), RFPs (Request for Proposal), and purchase orders. Reporting to the Maintenance Construction Field Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator II is responsible for operating various pieces of medium and small sized construction equipment, small engines, attachments, power tools and hand tools to construct, repair, and perform maintenance to channels and bayous within Harris County.
Essential Functions and Duties: Construct forms, place rebar, pour and finish concrete structures such as culverts, inlets, and manholes. Operates medium and small-sized construction equipment such as excavators, skid o steers, and other machinery for channel and bayou maintenance. Build and repair manholes, inlets, and stormwater infrastructure components. Install corrugated metal pipe outfalls, signage, gates, and bollards. Perform minor erosion control repairs and grading operations on open channels and drainage facilities. Perform sediment removal operations using excavators, including operations on slopes. Clear debris, trees, rocks, and other large obstacles from right-of-way and channel bottoms. Remove selective vegetation and perform de-snagging operations on channels. Flag traffic and act as a spotter for other equipment operators during the ingress and egress of work sites. Inspect County vehicles and equipment for safety. The duties of an aircraft refueler will consist of servicing aircraft and other equipment with aviation and automotive fuels with the use of tanker trucks, hydrant carts or tow carts. If our fosters are the heart of our organization, our volunteers are the pulse. We count on our volunteers to help support our efforts, so we can use our funds where they’re most needed — bettering the lives of homeless pets across Houston. We need your help to find homes for the estimated 1 million homeless dogs and cats wandering our city’s streets. Every little bit helps. RPM’s fundraising committee always needs help planning, organizing, and staffing many different events throughout the year. We also need help with various office tasks.
Help transport pets, complete office work, raise money and plan events.
And our dogs and cats are always on the go! We need local drivers to move dogs and cats out of the shelters and take them to the vet, foster homes, or other local transport locations. Volunteer local transporters are so important because that first ride out of the shelter is how a life gets saved. RPM can find something for anyone who wants to help our city’s homeless pets.
